My kind of place! We went on Wednesday wing night. Awesome wings with onion rings and fries on the side and a cold beverage. Not fancy just a nice pub grub kind of place. Friendly servers that know what you need before you do. Some of our group had fish & chips and loved it as well. Can't wait to go again!
Felt like a place where everyone has known each other forever. True small Canadian town feel. My husband and I stopped in for dinner when we were picking up a load (ltl driver) We walked down from the gfl yard, and it was the first restaurant, so we stopped. We were pleasantly surprised. We drove straight from Niagara to get to Timmins with limited stops, so the good food and great service were appreciated :) Next time he gets a load in Timmins, we will definitely be back!
I absolutely LOVE this place. The Moneta is by far THE BEST restaurant in Timmins. In the few short years I've lived in town, I've been to the Moneta over 50 times, and make it a point to eat here at least 2 times a month. There are so many things that make this restaurant amazing. Although it is technically a bar, the food is absolutely phenomenal. The owner is an absolute genius, and his food is always prepared fresh and tastes great. From what I've been told, the food is made fresh in-house, and always tastes the exact same each time I go. I recommend snake bites tossed in sauce with a side of bleu cheese to start, and the fish and chip meal. HEAVEN! Freddy (not sure if I spelled that right) makes the best snake bites (boneless wings) I have ever tasted in my life. The meat is so tender and juicy, and whatever batter he uses to fry them in makes them so crispy that they're an experience within themselves. You HAVE to try them. Another thing that makes the Moneta such a great place is Ava. From the first time I stepped foot in the Moneta, she has been my waitress (with the exception of a couple rare occasions) and has always been nothing short of amazing. She always makes me feel at home, and remembers my name and my order without me even having to tell her anything. If the food doesn't have you coming back, Ava's winning personality and pep definitely will. She keeps you smiling throughout the entire meal. Lastly, the service is quick! Some nights it is packed and busy, so you may have to wait a bit longer, but even then, the wait usually isn't bad at all. I'm usually in and out within 30-45 minutes, and that's including appetizers plus some extra chatting. All in all, it truly is a gem in this small town and deserves so much more recognition. From the food, to the service, it's a wonderful place to be. You've got a customer for life, Moneta Bar & Grill!
Been going there for years, and I'm still always surprised by the great taste of the food. This place rocks all the time, and it is loud on weekends but that's because it's always full. I also like that they support local talent such as our musicians (Paul every Thursday), comedians, and other acts. Staff is always super friendly, and on their toes serving ppl, but also they have a HUGE amount of take out orders. If I could recommend something, it would be to renovate the bathrooms.
I was in Timmins for work. I was pleasantly surprised. It’s a great pub with great food, amazing service and a cool atmosphere.
Fantastic atmosphere. Had a great night. Met a lot of great people. I had the Texas 2 Step Burger. It was very good. Moneta is now on my list of greats restaurants to hit when I am in town.
Had the fish and shrimp special tonight for takeout! Jana was lovely and always providing great service. Food was hot, crispy and delicious. 10/10 would recommend. Thanks Moneta!
